Indoor Pistol Range & Reality Based Firearms Training
Learn To Shoot -
This course is designed for those new to shooting or for those who wish to gain a fundamental understanding of handgun operation and safety. Students will learn how to safely handle a handgun, proper loading and unloading technique, and how to shoot a pistol. The course consists of approximately 1 hour of classroom and 1 hour of range time. Students will get to shoot several types of 22 caliber handguns and receive individual instruction on how to properly and safely shoot a handgun. It is not necessary to own a handgun to take this course. Handguns and 50 rounds of ammunition will be provided at no additional charge. However if students wish to bring their own firearm they are welcome to do so and we will instruct them on its proper use.

Defensive Shooting 1
If you could only take one firearm personal protection course, this would be the one. This class incorporates many of the skills and tactics taught previously in the Defensive Shooting Workshop series. Defensive Shooting Fundamentals is the starting point and prerequisite for all other Shoothouse USA Defensive Shooting classes. DS1 will incorporate the basic skill sets necessary for surviving a violent attack that occurs just outside of 2 arms reach. In DS1 we will cover the basic defensive stance, the high ready position, moving off the line of attack, the balance of speed & precision, drawing to the front from concealment and a basic magazine (clip) change. 3+ Hours

Defensive Shooting 2
This is the continuation of Defensive Shooting 1 where students will learn and apply advanced skills and techniques in using a firearm for personal protection. Skills covered will include, drawing from concealment to front, strong side, weak side & to the rear, tactical and strategic reloading, malfunction clearing during the fight, and one handed firearm manipulation. As a bonus this class will incorporate basic third party protection of an unarmed companion.

Shooting from Cover and Concealment
This course will cover the skill of shooting from various positions and circumstances that one may encounter during an attack in the home. Positions covered include: Standing, Kneeling, Squatting, Prone, Shooting on the Move, Multiple Targets, Hammer drills, all from the perspective of cover versus concealment. These positions will be utilized shooting from horizontal, vertical, narrow opening, and more.

Advanced Pistol Handling
Students will employ tactical shooting skills utilizing movement and weapons control that will enable them to respond to threats that happen too quickly or too close to effectively use traditional precision shooting techniques. Courses of fire will include shooting on the move, multiple targets, double taps, controlled pairs, hammer drills, tactical reloads, transfer drills and malfunction drills. All shooting will be done from the holster at distances of 3-7 yards.

Shooting in Low Light/No Light
Since the vast majority of armed exchanges in the home occur at night, this is an essential course for anyone who intends to use a firearm at night. Students will learn skills to identify the threat in low light or no light conditions, shoot using available lighting, shoot using the absence of light. Included also will be proper techniques for using hand held light soruce as well as weapons mounted lighting. Maximum class size is 5 students.
